SWEET car. Bet you couldn't build it for the asking price. But those guys out in Calli have lots of nice originals to choose from.

Awesome color combo!
That really shows nice and honestly if you told me about it without seeing it I would'nt have thought I like it as much as I do.
I'm going to find them on the net and see if they have more pictures for he Gallery.
I'd eventually like to get pictures in there off all the different colors.
Thanks for sharing Walt

I don't know but sometimes I look at things a little different. If I were going to spend that kind of money on a car, I would much rather have that car if it's as nice as it looks than any newer car I could buy.
Better cooler car and you can work on it. I don't think the price is out of line if it is as it looks. Even if you could build it for that, you would have to be able to do the work for that cost. If you bought that car you are on the road at least a couple years sooner for the time available to most people to work on the project.
If that were a chevelle SS, it would probably be thought of as a great deal. Better car for less money.

It's this fact that makes our cars so much more special, in my opinion. My f-in-law has a 65 Chevelle convertible. It's not an SS, has a later model 350 and 4 speed, no power options at all. It's full of bondo, has a $500 Earl Scheib paint job. When we park next to each other at a car gathering, people walk right by my car to look at his. But, the comments are "OOOH, look, it's blue", or "nice seats", or something like that. The people that stop to examine my car are people that appreciate what it is, and how rare it is. Oh, and he paid $25,000 for the Chevelle!

Anyone notice the emissions hose setup on this one vs. other California A/C cars?
And the accessory chrome parts.
Very nice car by the way. Worth every penny of the $25K if it's as nice live as in the pics.

You are right on Mark--that is a '66 CA emissions air cleaner. '66 air cleaners have the snorkle pointed to the pass side since the smog pump went on the top of the engine next to the PS pump on the drivers side--right in the middle of where the '65 snorkle goes. 99% of the people would never notice that detail, but that air cleaner is not correct for that car unless someone can prove that late production models started using '66 air cleaners.

I love the chrome aircleaner and valve cover look, makes it different from all the finned covers on nailheads, but wasn't that a dealer installed option? Could it be that it was only available in 1966? I am curious because I have the chrome valve covers, but not the air cleaner. I have thougth about having my air cleaner with a driver's side pointing snorkle chromed, when I have lots of $$$.

Kurt,
The chrome valve covers and air cleaner were dealer installed from all the info we have. It was available in 65. I'm having my air cleaner chromed now, but no word on the cost yet.

I agree with you. My only point is that this car is also worth every penny of the $25k if it's as nice as it looks. Better than a chevelle, and I would rather drive this than any $25k new car.
The cost of getting a car to this point makes it a good deal to buy a nice car like this and be on the road years sooner.

Well, I don't know about that....it doesn't have the windshield washers hooked up! That has to knock off at least $10k from the value. :laughing7:
The only other items I could nit-pick about the car is the plating on power brake booster and hood latch.
I have to admit this is one of the nicest 65 GS's I've seen online. :love4:
