Dear mid-60s Buick caregivers,
The gang at Orinda Classic Car have a 1964 Buick Riviera that they are working on. On the grill I noticed something that I don't remember ever seeing before. Here is a picture:

Does anybody know the story behind this Buick Club of America grill badge?
A curious mind would like to know! :idea1:
Cheers, Edouard :occasion14:

Hmm. I see one badge. And I see two of you (reflection in the headlights). I haven't seen any of those 3 objects before. But they sure are interesting :evil6:.

That badge was originally given out to a car that received a Senior award at a national meet. The requirement was that it received a minimum of 390 of the 400 points. If I recall correctly, they were also available for purchase at one time.

Thanks Loren! Your explanation makes sense. I see that these badges have come up for sale on eBay from time to time, so some are still in "circulation."

Your should be flattered, Elagache.
Also, I don't think (and I could be wrong) that badge is a BCA Senior Gold Award badge. I think the Senior Gold badges looked like this (which is different).

Edouard, Seeing your photo in those headlights is OK , it adds character to the photo... Now if we see your photo in our local post office that's not good. :overthetop:

I don't recall seeing this badge. Might it be from a different era ? Don't want to argue , but the one I pictured was from 1992 when I, my brother and my father=in-law , all received gold and senior awards for our cars at the 1992 BCA National in Overland Park, KS.
I will have to ask the BCA when the other badge was used.

Loren, I have one of the ‘other’ badges on my Turquoise convertible. That earned a Senior Gold in 2013. Had to order it and pay for it.

That all makes sense - badges are for the same award but from different eras.
