Title: Repro Date-coded Distributor ID tags - gauging interest
Post by: BuickGS65 on December 17, 2019, 05:55:45 PM
I think I've located someone that makes reproduction distributor ID tags.  Would anyone be interested in having one made for their car? Trying to do a larger order so that it will reduce cost... Everything TBD - gauging interest.

I believe the format is "Part #, DELCO REMY, date code"

for example, a 1965 300 would be "1111083 DELCO REMY 5B10" or a '65 GS would be "1111055 DELCO REMY 5A13"

(1) Would you be interested in having one made for your car (depending on price)?

AND

(2) Is the format correct? Can anyone confirm off an original distributor ID strap?

Thanks

Dan,
Pretty sure there is a different number for a distributor used on the cars with 2-4s carb setup as well.  Don't remember what it is, but someone on this site will know.  The numbers are all in the 65 Buick full size car service manual.   I would be interested in one with the 2-4s number on it since I had mine recurved to be like one.

Dual quad distributor is 11110993... Will keep everyone posted on how my order turns out.  They can make any number with any date code.

Dan,

Sorry I missed your earlier post.  I'm also interested in a tag for my 2x4 distributor.  Will follow your experience with interest.

Chuck
