Title: Starter Heat Shield for Buick 300 V8
Post by: Robert V on November 27, 2019, 07:28:27 AM
Good Morning,

I saw a listing for used starter heat shield for a Buick 350 V8.
I was wondering if one was needed or used on a stock 1965 Skylark 300 motor.

Thanks,
Robert

For a cheap guess, Id say yes. This is a shot of the 465 in my '64 that had a V6. The green starter bracket came off the V6, and altho the starters were different internally, theyre identical externally. The V6 didnt have a shield, but it may have been removed long, long ago. If your block has the mounting holes, it'll all probably line up. Sure wouldnt hurt to try! Just about all the accessory stuff off the V6 matches up with the 300, 340, and 350 SBB.  Bill

Bruno in Hicksville probably knows the answer, and has one for 5.00

Thanks Bill!

Photo's are great reference.  I've met Bruno and will reach out to him once I check my engine for mounting holes.

Regards,
Robert
