Title: 65 GS 3 speed parts car
Post by: option B9 on July 24, 2019, 09:08:10 PM
Was on ebay and saw a 65 GS 3 speed parts car, the sheet metal is rotted but there are plenty of good parts to be picked off of it. Ebay # 254307564036  located in Tennessee.

Doubt it was a GS. Has a small block in it. Front fender pictured does not have ventiport or holes for it. But have been wrong before. LOL

The one to this link is a different car. Same seller though. He has three '65s up on eBay right now.

Dear Tony, Dan, Loren, and mid-60s Buick shoppers,

As Loren points out this fellow has 3 cars for sale.  This link has the name eBay number as the one Tony quotes:

That 3 speed car looks fairly complete and weird options with wide mouldings and wheel well trim. That other GS is likely a skylark with the rare 66 455 and all..I did not see anything GS about it. You don't see three of these cars in one spot too often, lots of good pieces. I dare say that 3 speed is worth restoring if one was so inclined.

Anyone get an e mail from the guy selling these cars ?  He sent me a message about the three speed car saying the dual quad set up that comes with the car is after market and NOT a factory one .
just an FYI .

I was able to buy this car and decided to save it. It seems to be the real deal LR matching VIN engine. Lots and lots of metal work to be done, very close to the rustiest car if not the rustiest, I've worked on. Never owned a 3 speed before but had a couple of 4 speed cars. The frame is gone so I'll have to find a convertible frame. Seems like a good one to save since there were so few made. Love that Astro blue poly. I'll post progress as I'm able. Sure would like to know what the "star" after the paint code stands for. Could it be the star shaped headliner option vs tier or basketweave? Someone has to know.

Dear red65gs and mid-60s Buick caregivers,

Since this is your first posting it seems like as good an excuse as any to welcome you to 65GS.com! (http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/welcome_smiley.gif)

Let me thank you for your decision to preserve this rare car! (http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/thanks_sign.gif)

Since it sounds like you have a long project ahead of you, you will be well served to start a new thread in the restorations topic.  Here is the link to that topic:

If possible try to provide as many pictures as you can manage.  Nothing clarifies an issue than a picture of the problem.  This forum has a relaxed pace, so be patient because replies may take a bit to come.

Once more welcome and thank you!

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Yes, welcome red65gs! Where are you located at? My first car was a 66 GS 3 speed, still have it for parts.

Cool car.  I purchased my car when looking for a 3-speed 65...mine had no engine or transmission but I ended up with a 4-speed in it.
Hopefully you can find a frame and begin there.  I'm up in Cincinnati so if you are up this way let me know.
Carry on :)

Thanks, Ted! I've found a guy with a frame fairly close, still have to look at it since it has been in a fire. Going to be a long journey putting this on the road again.
