I picked up this magazine one time, in a store, when I was a kid...

And just like that it was gone. It was a live ad the other day. Still looking for a rear valance panel to sit and look at but they all went to the crucible. :violent1: ws

I bought these for my convertible.
Thanks for the heads up!
Regards,
Robert

Glad someone here got it!

Are they GS only or do they come on all crossflow radiator supports? Seems like I had a skylark that had them.
-
Even the BADLASS has them.. bill
-
I looked up info on these core support braces.
see attached link over at V8BuickForum.
According to this thread 1964 and 65 convertibles and 1965 Skylark GS should have them.
I sure would appreciate it if someone here would post a photo showing how they are mounted on the core support (top) and where they are attached at the bottom. Maybe frame or bumper bracket?
Thanks

Also a/c and high option cars ! The bars pictured are of the straight style these are correct for all
64 and early 65’s with the down flow radiator! They can be used on the non air cross flow cars I believe!
The bars that have a bump out at the bottom are correct for later and GS cars with the cross flow radiator!
They go from the top corners of the core support down to the middle of the bumper brackets! Forming a X
Maybe I have a picture!?

Heres the '64 special. Mount and tighten the lowers (like 30 ft pounds) which are stationary into the bumper brackets (circled in yellow), then tighten the slotted uppers which fall into place next to the vertical radiator braces. Easy peezy! Now Im still looking for the '64 rear sheet metal pieces. Not having very good luck.. Thanks, Bill

Thanks for the info and the pictures!
I see how they fit.
My radiator is a down flow.
The braces are scheduled to arrive on Monday. I found reference to these braces in section 12-14 of the 1965 service manual.
Bill thanks for the original post with the link to the ebay sale.
Regards to all,
Robert

So you bought the ebay units? I thought these guys were beating me up for posting a bogus ad...That would NEVER be intentional. Its bad enough waiting for weeks for a response (!) about body parts! Bill
-
Just an FYI... those bars are off the '64 with a V6 downflow radiator... Bill

Dear Brian, Michael, Bill, Robert, Jim, Dan, Jon, and mid-60s Buick experts,
Thanks for this interesting discussion! (http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/thanks_sign.gif)
I was definitely unaware of this subtlety of our Buicks. There is always something new around here and I'm glad to be learning! (http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/smiley.gif)
Cheers, Edouard :occasion14:

Yeah Ed... those cross bars tend to stiffen up that core support due the diagonality (!) of the design.. ws
-
Yes the weight of a four core GS radiator and a/C parts hanging off the core support is very heavy compared to a small v6 with no options!
