I need help! I'm a confirmed 65 GS hoarder! Lol I got to much chit! I think a guy went in and never came out! There's a 65 somewhere in the picture! Buick parts over load! Lol who else has this problem!?
-
I was getting there so I started selling what I was not going to use to free up space and maybe help someone out.
-
:overthetop:
I may be close, but mine is spread over a larger area. I think that is more then you had when I saw that storage unit. I too am starting to let things go.

Back in the late 80s and 90s i was hoarding 65 Special & Skylark parts, I would buy dead Buick's drag them home and part them out. Then have the scrapyard pick up whatever was left. This lasted until 2007 when i realized i had filled up a two car garage and the loft of a 3 car garage with parts... OK now what ? I had more than enough parts to repair my GS Coupe. I took me a while ( a long time ) but i made a decision to bring some parts to one of the BCA National meets in Danvers MA. I like the parts but I also don't need 5 of one item and the cash could help buy some needed reproduction parts. Once the cash started to go in my pocket the hoarding anxiety seemed to let up and I was actually enjoying selling parts. And i could see that Brown UPS truck pulling up in front of my house dropping off those boxes of repro parts !!! At the end of the meet i could not wait to get home so i could get on that phone and place my order and spend that cash. By the way i also met Loren at that meet and i think he purchased something from me. And he did not know that I was recovering from Hoarder-ites !! Since that time i have sold off all of my big parts and downsized to the loft of a 1 1/2 car garage and a several shelves in the basement. After my open heart surgery in 2013 i realized there is more to life than keeping stuff that you are never going to use, so let someone else enjoy the stuff too. And instead of chasing down dead Buick's I spend time with my Children........and my three Buick's :laughing7: Tony

Good priorities Tony!

It was nice to finally meet you in person and I did buy a pair of carburetors for a v6 from you at Danvers . That was a great event and a fantastic time.
I think I've finally gotten to the first step of recovery to this disease, by admitting that I have too many parts. Parts both big and small, quarter panels, hoods , deck lids and the list goes on and on and on..... Then to top it off, I get into a first generation Riviera. LOL
Do I need help ? Hi, my name is Loren . I am a Buick parts hoarder …….. maybe.
-
I finally sold all my Mopar parts a couple of years ago too. I used the money for GS stuff. Some parts I had since the 70?s and finally figured out I was not going to use them.
-
I am a general hoarder, but mostly Buick. I use the theory "He who has the most parts when he dies, WINS.
-
No, No, No,......... it?s who used up the most parts😀😀😀
-
You guys are doing a good job of guiding us to who we should talk to when we need parts! You'll probably get a load of inquiries now!!
:cheers2:

All
I thought I was fine until I sold a house with one of my pole barns last summer.
Now I'm down to only one pole barn and the walls are closing in.
Thank goodness Loren was able to help me liquidate out of a lot of my early Riv parts for his new project.
I still have 2 63 401, 2 64 401, in various levels of assembly.
1 late 50s V8 nailhead looking complete.
Several dynaflow transmissions early 60s.
1 flathead 60 hp Ford I think 1937 (How did that ever get in here?)
6 original 1954 Buick Skylark wire wheels With spinners not show chrome.
Swap Meet time this summer.

It is only a problem when it bothers YOU......naturally everybody else hates a hoarder......unless THEY need something. I don?t like to waste things, but I really don?t need four extra glove box doors, cigarette lighters,engines,etc....so I guess if I can?t find a use for it I should let it go.......maybe...I guess...sorta....I don?t have a problem at all.
-
Hoarding it's a sickness lol!!

It is only a problem when it bothers YOU....
..........Or Spousal unit!

Hi,
At least you specialize in 1 type of sickness, I've got 2 64's, 2 65's, a 66 and 67 in the back 40, along with a 66 225, a 68 Olds 98, and 3 (95, 99, 01) Dodge pickups, a 01 Tacoma and a 00 Jeep Cherokee, and that's only the parts collection.
The wife says its all good as long as she can't see from the backyard, thankfully I have a large barn to hide it all behind, lol
Betting everyone here will be more than happy to help you with your hoarding condition rehabilitation, 1 or 2 parts at a time, lol
Regards,

I'm actually thinking about taking up hoarding!
(Buick parts are petroliana)
-
I was trying to find a car to go with each set! But I gave up! Lol :headbang:
-
More hoarding going on! I wanted a tach for each! Took awhile but accomplished the task! The sickness continues! And got enough emblems for each car too! I've got to stop this! I should never get lost even when everyone tells me where to go too! Lol A compass for each car too but only two are Buick ones!
-
Nice finds, cool 3 early grille emblems
Regards,
Jim

Stop hoarding Jon!

Jon that's quite the collection ! I'm beginning to think theres many of us on this forum that need help in this area of HOARDING .
Maybe JUST MAYBE we need to hold a quarterly meeting somewhere for those with the sickness .
The problem is we have NO leader as ive seen a few of our members places or heard stories of them .
I know Loren has it , Ive been to Marks place and he has it, his is just well organized .Been to Miltons place and he has it , sounds like Jim ( jmos4 ) has it . Been to Jims in Mankato and he REALLY has it. LOL !! Haven't been to Chucks place yet but if he doesn't have it I Think we could easily persuade him into it . :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:
-
Yep, I have it. We need a good 12-step program!! :laughing7:
