I am looking for an NOS Goodyear power steering belt. I don't know if it matters but it's a non AC car. Thanks to anyone that may be able to help.
-
Do you know the part number of the belt?
-
I have a belt part number, but it's not a GY number. I can post the number and you can try and cross reference.

It shows to be a 52 9/16 OD belt. I would think a part number with 52 for size should fit.
-
I am not sure of the size. The belt that's on there now is a Gates belt that is cogged. I was able to get an NOS Goodyear alrernator belt prior to this show but now Im looking for this one.
-
The newer gates number is 7520, but I do not have an older cross reference for the non-ribbed original stlyle belt. You may ask this seller to get you a measurement of circumference and width. I believe this one should fits lengthwise.

No problem,
You had my attention with the fawn colored original. I have never seen one in a GS. The last time I saw that color was on a GM promotional model car of a 1962 corvette that they gave my dad when he bought his new 327 vette in early 63 because the dealers wanted to get rid of any old stuff on the lot. It was given to me as a little kid to play with....and of course,is loooooong gone,Dan

I had to look up some paint chips(or stop eating them)....but your car appears to be lighter than Lorens car. Are they both champagne mist? Maybe it is the lighting in the pic,but I was thinking Lorens looked darker. It could be just the contrast of colors with the light colored top that looks different to me.It is not called fawn in 65,but the fawn shows up as an interior color.

The original Buick belts I have are Gates. The Power Steering w/o AC is P/N 1368824, group 1.066. The part number and “GATES” are embossed in the belt.

Loren,
I would be interested in it if you want to sell it as long as it's a non-cogged belt? The response I got from the guy on ebay was that his belt is 52.5 inches and 7/16 width. He said it should work on my power steering.

Been meaning to add this picture of an NOS Buick belt. The P/N on this belt is 1355403 and supersedes to 1375405. Hard to see the Gates logo embossed at the end of the part number.

Loren
Thanks for the belt information on AC 65 GS.
My belts are cogged and work well but aren't helpful for judged.

Milton, you’re welcome. Bill S. has found a belt company that has non- cogged belts in metric sizes. We need to make a road trip to check it out first hand and see what they look like.

I'm interested.
I have seen stuff like lawn mower belts non-cogged but they are the wrong color (green) and I'm not sure I want to trust my car to such a substatute.

Milton,
One of the reasons Bill and I want to see the belts first hand. Weather is playing a factor right now. It is a road trip to Sioux Falls, SD from Firth. So once we have some better road/weather conditions we can check it out.
I've done a bit of research on the sizes and found metric size belts that are very close to correct . The metric belts come in two widths , 7mm and 10 mm. The 7mm is really close to 3/8" and 10mm is really close to 1/2". So now it will be down to color of the belts and how the metric belts are marked.
Hopefully we can find a replacement that will fit the bill.

I just picked up an NOS belt on ebay, non-cogged with the sleeve for 30 bucks, shipped. Thanks for the part number or I wouldn't have know what to look for.
