The alternator has info stamped so pay attention. I havent looked at the starter for #s but with 33K on the clock, probably OEM. Its puke Buick green. 1964 Special V-6. Everything on the front of the motor matches 300-340-and 400(?) V8s. Both are probably serviceable but at least good for a correct core. $50.00 each plus the truck OBO<< ws

In line on the alternator. Need to do some research. Will be in touch soon. Thanks

Bill,
While it will work on the V8 engines, take note that the V6 starter is different internally. The 65 Skylark/Special Chassis service manual explains it. The windings in it are different such that it turns faster, but has less torque. I dug into this back in the early 90s when I converted a 65 Special from a V6 to a 300V8 4bbl engine. I used the V6 starter and noticed how it cranked differently than the other 300 engines I had with the correct V8 starter on them.
Alternator is the same as V8 cars though. The one you have should be a date coded original, which may be a treasure to someone here.

Thanks for clarifying that Brian... Im not too sure but that starter may have gone out with the block. Just trying to keep the "take offs" manageable without being overstocked LOL...If you guys ever see anything that ya need, shout out! Bill

Alternator was made December 19, 1963. This would be an incorrect date for a 1965 model - agree?
