Title: Oil cans - any experts out there?
Post by: campfamily on January 13, 2019, 02:55:23 PM
Buick friends - anybody out there experts in oil cans? Cleaning out my Dad's garage the last few weeks, came across some old Ray Lube oil cans, the old style cardboard/composite cans. Still full of oil, in really nice condition. I'm sure you wouldn't want to use the oil but have to believe somebody would want them. I have 12 cans. Looks like my dad got them from a clearance rack somewhere, one of them has a price sticker that says 3/$1. I looked on eBay, found somebody offering one can is worse shape than these for $86. Are they really that collectible?

Old oil cans are collectible but I don?t know what they?re worth. Oddballs might be worth more.

Keith ,  I,m not an expert on oil cans even though I do collect them . I'm not sure their worth 85.00 a can but it is possible . Most of them I see are in the 15. to 30 dollar range . If they were refined locally or have anything to do with speed or hi performance then they definitely jump up in price quick . Ive seen a few brands bring north of 200.00 a can .
All in all it just depends on what someone is willing to pay .
