Hi, we've been diving deep into our 65 GS restoration and found something that has me perplexed. We don't think that the inner door panels (upholstery) were ever removed, but yet the tabs that seemed to have once bridged the long horizontal slot on the bottom of the door inner panel have been cut and bent back. Is this original or have they been altered? If not original, we'll bend them back and reattach them. Photos included. Thoughts? Thanks!

The only picture I have of the interior door panel of my 65 shows the same as yours. The opening goes all the way across - no tab.

Same on mine.

Good to know. I couldn't figure out why they had been cut and bent back...but then again I don't understand why those tabs are there in the first place. Maybe they held things together during stamping.
Thanks for the info Dan and Dwaine!

Yours looks just like mine too. I passed this info on to my bodyman today. He's still as curious as I am...why they are the way they are, but I'm sure it won't be the last mystery we encounter restoring the GS.
Thanks Chuck!...and Happy New Year All!
