Title: 65 Gran Sport floor replacement gotta start somewhere
Post by: 455pev on September 10, 2018, 02:30:43 PM
figured since I had the Floor pans I would start pulling the interior out to replace them.  Cutting out old pan wasn't bad until I decided to drill spot welds on the rocker at the door so that I could slide the new pan under like the factory.  I also cut the toe board off so I can weld a flange to it and reattach it back to the main floor to make the factory seem.  I have a feeling that grinding the spots welds between the inner and outer rocker down so that I can slide the floor back in between may not be much fun.

Under the drivers seat there was a Job Tag.

The floor braces look like they are in nice shape. Also looks like a lot of work. Are you doing both sides ?

Are you using pans cut out of another car, or aftermarket replacements?

These are aftermarket pans I bought at a swap meet  not sure what brand they are but seem to be better then some I have used.  They have the plug holes punched out and tabes weld for Ribon wire and the metal plate where the studs for the gas pedal is welded on too.  The braces are in really nice shape with only minimal surface rust. Once I get the driver side done I’ll move to the passenger side.
