Dear mid-60s Buick owners who want a "clean machine."
Hagerty's has a piece on detailing from someone who prepares cars for the Pebble Beach Concours:

There are some surprises in this. This fellow uses a lot of Griot garage products. In particular he frequently wipes the cars with Griot’s Best of Show detailer:

This will undoubtedly make the shine look better, but of course any abrasives that might have fallen on the paint will be ground into the surface. Anybody with a car at Pebble Beach must be willing to repaint the car more frequently. However, these sorts of products personally scare me since I want the paint to last a very long time!
Another surprise was his technique for cleaning white-wall tires: lacquer thinner! Not on my tires!
On the other hand here is a suggestion from this fellow that might be worth investigating - Pro Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish. Here it is on sale at Amazon:

Perhaps this is a product worth researching some more.
Anyway, an interesting view of another side of car culture. Definitely the advice should be taken with a generous grain of salt!
Cheers, Edouard :occasion14:
