I have a '65 GS with a Dark Charcoal painted Dash Panel & have a few questions;
Where can I find the Paint?
Is the Dash a Flat, Semi or Gloss paint?
Thanks,
Doug

Hi Doug,
I have about half a quart of the correct paint left from my restoration. It's lacquer. I used about a quarter of the quart on the dash, steering mast and kick panels. Plenty left for another car.
PM if interested.

As for your finish question, I would describe it as semi-gloss. It is essentially the lacquer with no buff/polish on it.

I can look up the Dupont codes later. They're from the 60's, so I don't know if an auto body supply can still use them to mix up the proper color using the modern base/tints.
autocolorlibrary.com may be an online source for the paint charts and should be able to mix up the paint. Their website appears to be down at the moment.

Dear Chuck, Dan, Walt, Doug, and mid-60s Buick owners who are fussy about color,
autocolorlibrary.com may be an online source for the paint charts and should be able to mix up the paint. Their website appears to be down at the moment.
You aren't kidding about the website being down. The link you gave is definitely corrupted:
http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/ (http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/)
The parent company link is also completely down for the count:
http://www.tcpglobal.com/ (http://www.tcpglobal.com/)
Sure hope these guys aren't in some sort of financial trouble or something. Normally you don't leave a corporate website in this sort of horrible shape for very long.
Cheers, Edouard

Walt,
Thanks a bunch!!
I was able to get the Ditzler Paint codes I needed.
Now I just hope my local paint supply shop can mix them up.

Walt,
As you said my local paint store can't do anything with the Ditzler paint codes!
If you could get the DuPont codes that would be excellent.
Thanks again,
Doug

Doug, the DuPont Lucite 'Dark Grey' semi gloss is 9174-LH. Hope they can mix it up for you.
