Title: 65 GS Hardtop in California
Post by: cwmcobra on May 23, 2018, 06:25:40 AM

Nicely restored in 2006 and reportedly very few miles since then.  Engine was not rebuilt, unoriginal steering wheel, power disc brakes added.  Otherwise, looks like a very nice car, apparently being sold with no reserve.

Looks like they did a nice job on it, nice car.

Also, the description says it has a Quadrajet carb, which wouldn't be original in 65.  But can't tell from the pictures.  Probably an AFB and a typo.

Note that the pictures are dated from 2006 when the restoration was completed.  I think any interested buyer should ask for current pictures!

Based on the Chrome air cleaner I would suggest it does have a Q-Jet. The owner seems like a car guy, there is no mistaking an AFB for the Q-Jet. It is a very nice car.

Very nicely done. Great color combo too!
Note the 11" rear drums. Wonder what they came off of?
I'll bet Mike will be checking this one out.

The owner posted on V8, he's requesting more info about GS's.

What is a driver with 15 year old paint worth ? It needs

? steering wheel

? blue AC dash pad

? bright work ($$$!)

? tires ( these are 22 years old )

Mid teens ?  15-16k

on 64-67 cars there is no difference in dash pad for A/C vs Non A/C

Hi Walt, Who's making steering wheels ? i heard Frank was retired on his parts ?
Repo dash with trade in ? I wonder if they are just having them re done by just dashes or someone similar. I haven't heard good things about their
 work by the way.

Yes, my family previously owned the car and sold to the black widow.

Yes, Frank is done. There are threads on here somewhere for the group purchases on dash pads and steering wheels.

Dear Walt, dl7265, Jim, and mid-60s Buick caregivers,

Hi Walt, Who's making steering wheels ? i heard Frank was retired on his parts ?

We just had a group purchase on steering wheel restorations.  Here is the thread:

http://65gs.com/board/index.php/topic,3876.msg27371.html#msg27371 (http://65gs.com/board/index.php/topic,3876.msg27371.html#msg27371)

Repo dash with trade in ?

Here is the thread on the group purchase for the dash pads:

http://65gs.com/board/index.php/topic,3050.msg20519.html#msg20519 (http://65gs.com/board/index.php/topic,3050.msg20519.html#msg20519)

You can still ask for the outfit to restore your dash pad, they are continuing to do this.

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:
