Anyone had a septoplasty done?
To fix a deviated septum.

Not a septoplasty, but I have had sinus surgery. They use a little scope.
The neti pot became my friend, I can tell you that.

I also have a deviated septum and have been considering surgery, but haven't pursued it yet. I'll be interested in responses.
I do have a friend that had sinus surgery, including correction of a deviated septum, and she thought it was much less painful that she expected. Apparently the new medical techniques are a lot more gentle than the old ones.
What is it about 65 GS enthusiasts and deviants deviated whatever??!! :laughing7:

Ian & Chuck,
Yea, this isn't a new thing, been dealing with it for some time. I have an appt. with the ENT in a couple of weeks.
I know Brian had the same issue, but don't know if he had it fixed.
More to come. Thanks!

Hey Mark,
I had my sinus broke up about 15 years ago, best thing I did, sucked to have 2 black eyes and a month of crap in your nose but was worth it to me, I had bad allergies real bad proir and lost them for the first 5 years afterwards, they slowly came back but not as bad.
Actually considering going back to the ear throt and nose doctor again and see what they can do, as I understand it the glands in your nose grow back, as a friends wife had to go back every so often for a cleanup
Good luck,

Hi Jim,
I've been researching what the recovery is like for this procedure, and they are all over the map.
Hoping for the best.
What day are going to the Autorama? I'll be there Friday.

Hey Mark,
I am going down Saturday all day as a few of the locals from our weekly meet got cars in there. There is a lot of variety to check out, and fully charge your camera, I usually have to recharge my phone a few times.
Yeah the results of the surgery varies, but a few benefits for me was being able to cut the grass without being laid up for a day and a half, not to mention the small trees I would take out sneezing lol, as well as not having a sinus infection every year. Mine they had to break up pretty good, 1 side of my nose was smaller than a coffee straw, the other was a normal straw, so hence the black eyes.
If you're there Saturday give me a call, either way enjoy the show, also check out the rat rod section, its amazing the crude engineering that goes into some of these rides.
Regards,

Sounds like I have fellow sinus people here!
In 05 I couldn't breathe through my nose b/c my allergies were so bad.
Doc went in with scope, trimmed a bit. Started allergy injections.
Today, much better. Still have bad allergies but not nearly the situation before.
Surgery was rather easy in comparison to other more daunting issues.
Good luck.
