Nice looking car, but not original.  Original engine and transmission replaced by 67 GS 400 and THM 400 transmission.

Not mine....

That was on the Detroit Craigslist a short while ago. When I talked with seller he said he had someone coming to look at it. Was asking $17,500 as I recall. Seems quite nice if you don’t mind the newer engine. At least the engine is a Buick and not a SBC.

Just like my Gran Sport except for the engine and steering wheel.

Six bidders already!

Power windows and tilt wheel. The Craigslist seller said the interior was all new - seat covers, carpeting, etc - and that listing had a picture of the trim tag. Baltimore car with an S on the tag. White and black are the correct colors.

Nice looking GS, But i would rather have the old Nailhead in front and the 300 under the floor...

Title: Why didn't Grant get a period logo? (Re: Ebay: 65 GS Convertible in Durand, MI)

Dear Chuck, Dan, Jim, Buick_65, Tony, and mid-60s Buick owners who prefer period originality,

Just like my Gran Sport except for the engine and steering wheel.

That's a Grant aftermarket steering wheel.  It actually looks reasonably nice and depending on how original you want it to look you can make it look like it belongs in the car.  However, why in the name of anything reasonable did Grant license the modern Buick Tri-Shield for the emblem?  Exactly how often will somebody change the steering wheel in a 1980s or later Buick? . . .  :icon_scratch:

Our is not to wonder I guess . . . . .

Overall it doesn?t look too bad. Going down the road you can?t tell it?s the wrong motor, probably a good driver although A/C, tach, and posi would be nice too for that.

It is kind of hard to get under car pictures in winter time in Michigan.  Most people don't even let their collector cars see snow through an open door much less taken out on the road to drive to somewhere with a lift.

May not be a really motivated seller.   :dontknow:

Hi Dan,

I'm extra busy right now, but if you're really interested, maybe schlepcar and I would find time to meet in Durand and take a look and some pictures if the seller is agreeable.  If so, I'll talk with Dan B. and see what we might work out.

 :cheers2:

Had the same experience with another '65 very recently. The seller claimed "I didn't trust him and that he was offended."  People are crazy!

Kind of thought it might be a dealer after reading the description.
