The last time I saw a pair of NOS ones was in Flint , MI. That was about 30 years ago and they are on Champagne Mist.

When you consider the cost to re-plate a set. May be a reasonable deal.

Loren , my thoughts exactly . If I didn't already have 2 sets rechromed and waiting I think I would be all over those .

I don't need them either, I have enough nice sets for the other restorations.  I thought someone else may be looking though and might even have a well fertilized money tree. lol

All
In other items for sale he lists 1965 GS grill badge.

Is that the correct box for this item?

If I remember correctly the box my 1966 nos GS grill badge came in had a long narrow box.

If you look at sales history member start date lists 2003 location Jackson Michigan and a lot of Buick Nos.

Does anyone remember buying from him before?

It's early this morning and and in a hurry to get out the door so I may be wrong.

BE CAREFUL!

I live near Jackson, MI and have visited this person's shop.  I've looked over all of his 65 Skylark/GS stuff.  The reason I say be careful is that some of his stuff is NOS and some has been restored by him.  And some of the restorations are not quite up to par.  I've had the pair of ventiports in my hands and if they had both been NOS, I would have bought them.  But only one is NOS and it's a nice piece.  The other one has been restored by him years ago.  The pot metal was replated and looks pretty nice, but the inserts were coated with something that does not look good.  Kind of looks like a clearcoat that yellowed.  The difference doesn't show up well in the pictures.  You can tell which piece is NOS by looking at the picture of the back sides.  Note that one has the original swaging of the inserts into the pot metal housing.  On the other, the inserts have been glued into the housing.

I believe his emblems that were restored he had replated by a local shop years ago, that' no longer in business.  And he hand painted the red onto them.  In my opinion, if you have emblems that have good looking chrome, you're better off to send them to Loren and have his friend recolor them.  But if you don't have emblems with nice chrome, perhaps these would do or buy reproductions instead.  He does have some original stuff and, as you've noted, he has pretty high prices on everything.

I might be going over there again soon.  He has an item that I'm on the fence about.  If I do, I'll have another look at his stuff and report back more details on what he has.  Oh, and by the way, he has a shop full of mostly trim parts for just about any classic car out there.  So if you have needs for other brands, let me know and I can check out your needs with him.

Have a great week!

Chuck

Hi Milton,

Regarding the boxes, I think he has somewhat randomly stuck emblems into NOS boxes for display.  For years he made the rounds of swap meets and that was his way of displaying the parts as NOS or restored.  I wouldn't pay too much attention to the boxes......unless you are a collector of NOS boxes.

Got to have something on the shelf to impress everyone, even if the boxes are empty.   :laughing7:
