Switched to LED dash lights, much brighter and easier to read.
-
Where did you get them? I bought some and they didn't work.
-
The first set I bought did not work either, let me see if I can find the link.

That's where I got them, same place I bought the tach.

Thanks for the tip! :icon_thumright: LEDs are a great idea in principle, but the quality of these units varies greatly. It is much better to have a success story! Do the LEDs dim just like the original incandescent bulbs?
Cheers, Edouard

Yes they dim like the originals.

Looks good! Nice job with the tach too. I have some LEDs. From super Bright going to put in. But I was going to wait until I put a clock in it and pull the cluster out of the dash. The funny thing is I think I just bought your clock on ebay. Lol

That's were I got mine - in person - as they are located in Las Vegas. They didn't work (?) :dontknow:

To clarify - inexpensive eBay lights didn't work, the ones from Shiftwork's did .

A little research turned up information on the LEDs.
LEDs are polarity sensitive. Lesser expensive ones will not work if the +/- is backwards. The better quality, little more $$ LEDs, are made so as not to be polarity sensitive.
Another thing I have found with them is that the lesser $$ ones damage easier when installing.

Did you also have to get the LED compatible flasher?
-
I did install the sequential turn signals, so yes I went with the LED flasher.

Dear Dan, Dan, Jim, Loren, sjfd04, and mid-60s punctual luminaries,"
The funny thing is I think I just bought your clock on ebay. Lol
Was it this clock on eBay?

I had the clock in my trusty wagon also upgraded with the quartz conversion and it keeps extremely good time. It is much better than your typical quartz clock. If somebody has an original clock and doesn't mind losing the original movement I strongly recommend it.

Which LED flasher did you buy? I bought one from OPGI but it doesn't click and thought that would be annoying. I spotted this flasher on Amazon, but I haven't bought it yet:

Phillips is supposed to have a line of very high-quality LED replacements for the parking light, tail-light and backup bulbs. The backup and tail-light LEDs are already out, but the parking light LEDs still haven't reached the market. I'm waiting for those to upgrade.
Cheers, Edouard :occasion14:

Yep that's the clock. Can't wait to put it in. I'm going to throw it in my convert.

The LED flasher is only needed for LED turn signal bulbs. It is not necessary for the dash lights.

UPDATE:
I flipped the bulbs in the socket, and now they all work. I can't explain it. At least I can see my speedometer past 7pm now!
