Title: Alternator for A/C application
Post by: cwmcobra on December 19, 2016, 04:03:00 PM
Looking for a correct alternator for a 65 GS with air conditioning.  Best information we have is that the correct unit is a Delcotron part 1117765.  It's a 62 amp unit.

And if anyone has a 65 GS with A/C and a known original alternator, please post a picture and the part number.

Thanks,

Chuck

The part number is 1100709 and it is 55 amps. Information per the GS Service Manual, section 10.

Thanks Dan.  Looks like Loren and I need training on when to consult the parts book and when to consult the manual.....  :-(

Anybody have a 1100709 available?

Think I gave Loren the misinformation about the amp rating. LOL

The 1100709 was also used on the 66 Riv with 425 and a/c not sure if it was used on the 401 non GS Riv's? This is where I got mine for the Post car! it's the right part number  and amp  , but not the right date code! The non a/c 42 amp was only used on the 65 skylark gs I believe!
