Title: 1964 Skylark/Special Radio face plate
Post by: TrunkMonkey on December 18, 2016, 01:41:32 PM
Looking for a radio plate, and do not need the bezel.

I will be refinishing it, and installing three 1-1/2" gages in it above the radio, where the A/C vent is located.

May also be interested in a 1965 plate and bezel if the price is not too steep.

Thanks,

Michael

If that is the plate that Michael is looking for, I have one available in nice shape.  But I would defer to Loren, who responded first and probably has those available as well.  If he doesn't have any, I'll be glad to jump to the head of the line.

I was looking online at images of the 1965 bezel (last night) to try and figure out if there was a differnce between the years and actually found a complete 1965 bezel, plate, AC delete, radio and speaker!

So, I am set.

But, I do appreciate the responses, and I will keep the "line" protocol in case the larger plate (radio/speaker) is pitted badly. (hard to tell in pics, but I think it is just dirt and dust).

I'll post pics of it with the gauges mounted, as it will be a little while before I get the dash painted and stuff everything back in place.

Thank you all.  :glasses9:

Thanks for the reply and, for sure, post pictures when you've completed the gauge panel.

Sounds like you are planing something along this line. Here is a picture of a setup I did in one of my cars, many years ago.
I made a template from card stock so I could determine the angles I needed. It is fabricated from sheet metal, bent and welded. Then covered with a vinyl similar to the grain on the dash panel.
