Anyone know the difference between the 1965 cross flow core supports, especially in the hood latch, center grill support area when comparing them to a vertical flow core of the same year.
When I started my wagon project I failed to take this difference into consideration and ended up having to graft the bottom of a 66 core support to my original 65 core support so I could accomdate the crossflow radiator. So now it appears that I could have put myself in position where I will need to modify the center grill support bracket, that is if I ever find one, so it will fit in my bastardized situation.
Any insight would be helpfu.
Thanks
Mike

This may not help, but the 1966 uses the same grille support as the 1965. The hood latch , however, is different.

Walt.
This might be true if comparig cross flow to cross flow, but from my experience it is not true when comparing a vertical flow to a cross flow. The bottom of the vertical flow core support is much different than the cross flow, or it was when I went to the cross flow set up and nothing fit.
The hood latch is also different between 65 and 66 and so is the center grill support, as we have been discussing. The 66 center grill support is longer than the 65 by an inch or so.
This is my experience.

To the folks that were looking for a Hood latch support bracket aka center grill support for me.................
I have two coming, one from Glen Biggers and another off of ebay.
Thanks for the help and the info.

You will find that the upper bar on the core support is different for the downflow and the center grill support will not bolt up to it properly. It bots up at an angle on the crossflow top bar, and the dowflow one is different enough that it won't work.

And the cross flow brace is too long.
