I live in Florida and my father was an avid old car guy. He did a frame off restoration of a 65 Skylark GS. It's a beautiful car thats was done to original specs. It has factory A/C and a 4 speed. My dad passed away a few years ago and I now have the car. I drive to to a few shows but I'm more of a Ford guy. I don't know a lot about GM motors but I am quickly learning. I just found out about this site and I look forward to gaining more knowledge about the 401 motor and 65 Buick GS's in general. Just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and thanks for the site.

Rbear71,
I'd be great if you could give us your name. I'd like to know more about the car, and would love to see some pics. Welcome!
Mark

Welcome dude. You need to show us your car so we can drool over it. What colors? I have a 4 speed non ac but it will have it when i'm done.
Alot of knowledgable people around here. Ask anything you want to know.

Welcome to the club.
As Mark mentioned, if you don't mind, please tell us your first name so we know what to call you.
It sounds like you have a pretty special piece of both family and Buick history. Being a Ford guy, I'm sure that as soon as you learn just how special your old car is, you'll begin to see the light and we'll have you converted over to a Buick guy in no time. ;D
You have definitely come to the right place to learn more about your car and we're more than happy to help you keep her running and looking in tip top shape.
Looking forward to reading your posts and seeing pictures of you car.
Thanks for joining,
Chris

Thanks guys, first name is Rob. I'm not the most internet savvy guy so I am trying to post some pictures as we speak but I'm having some trouble. I'll keep at it and eventually get them up. The car is midnight blue with a white interior. I registered it with the GS registry.

Welcome again Rob.. ;D
I'm working on the registry as we speak. You are the lucky member who filled up the first page and for some reason the "next page" link is not working at the top of the page.
To get Rob's entry to show for now, change the number 20 to 50 and you should see his entry appear at the bottom of the list.
I'll try to get this bug fixed ASAP.
To post pictures here, go into the New Reply area like normal (like you are going to type a response or question) and use the "Additional Options" link under the message box. There you can browse and attach your pictures as long as they are not too big. If they need resized, check out this link,

Welcome aboard Rob. Beautiful car you have.
BTW, I'm also a Ford guy from way back, so don't feel too badly about that. I used to own a 71 Mach 1 with a 429 SCJ and 4 speed many, many years ago.

Welcome Rob!
Nice car! You don't see many midnight blue GS's. Nice color combo.
I think you will learn to appreciate the GS. They are very well built, and all-around great cars.
I have a fondness for old Fords too. I still have the 67 Fairlane I bought when I was 17, and the 67 GT that is still a project after 20 years of owning it!
