in the process of negotiating to buy a 1966 Skylark GS. wondering what parts availability is like currently.. mostly stuff like stainless exterior trim and some interior pieces such as headlight switch and bezels. it's been a few years since I had my last 66 and that one didn't need any of that stuff. I would also love to find a Q-jet intake and air cleaner.

Nice 66. That looks like the one that's close to my neck of the woods. Tacoma Washington. I seen it on Craigslist not to long ago

yes, it's in University Place. it's priced a bit high but by the time I bought one elsewhere and had it transported it would pretty much be a wash.

I have a 66 GS parts car and some extra parts.

Jim, I will get in touch once I have bought the car and have it here

Hope you get it, it needs a good home!
Don't worry too much about the price if it's a combo you like. By the time you put another 15k+ into the resto, the purchase price becomes more insignificant.
I like silver or any light metallic on these cars.... it really highlights the body lines.... and fine lines they are!
Bill may chime in on what parts he has avail. Did you see the winter thread on his blue/white top car?
Wheelz also has a bunch of '66 parts he got from Elliot.
I haven't been looking on eBay lately to see what's still on the market partswise.
Stainless trim should last forever unless someone drills holes in it when they can't find the correct clips!
I think HL switches are still avail new. Check Rockauto.
CARS (oldbuickparts.com) and the Buick Farm are other good sources for parts you can't find elsewhere.
I've been doing some re-restoration on my blue '66. The BCA Nats in Allentown, Pa is in 2 weeks. I first restored/modified this car in 1982. Feels great to be working on it again.
Keep us updated on the purchase!

I should have some extra parts if I ever get my 66 done. Kinda got side tracked, other home projects, like a cement floor for my building and other car things and old age and life kinda gets in the way. One thing about 66 trim, clips are a big problem for the lower trim. 66 is the only GS that used the Skylark chrome. Most trim is damaged by people pop riveting the trim on and putting holes in the trim. If they would screw the trim on they should put a small headed screw in the area where the black stripe is. Thanks Bill.
