Title: Buick License plate frames
Post by: 66nailhead on July 14, 2016, 11:42:11 PM
Hey guys. I am looking for a nick Allen Motors license plate frames out of Virginia?  60-70 era. It's a dealer that sold my brothers 65gs 3speed when it was new.  It would be so awesome if I could find some for his car. It could have been a dealer badge to.

Good luck finding the frame Dan! Any frames from Hamilton Buick, Van Nuys, CA out your way? Or anyone else?

Dear Dan, Jim, and mid-60s Buick "perfectionists,"

I understand your quest, but I have to confess . . . . I have the feeling you are "goin' about it da' hard way!"  When we bought our trusty wagon back in 1968, she had license plate frames from Hayward Dodge, which is I suppose where she was traded in (oh da' shame, a respectable Buick traded in for a measly cheap old Dodge!  :crybaby2: )  She had those frames for decides.  We never thought to replace them!  I'm thinking about having some custom frame made that have the make, model, and year of the car!

Sure it would be killer to get original frames from where the car was sold.  But until you find that, it might be better to put some frames that clue in an everyday person on the street that they have just seen a 50+ year old classic!

Just a thought . . . .

Cheers, Edouard

Thanks guys. Yeah I know it's going to  be like finding a needle in a haystack. I'll keep my eyes open for those California ones. I see Cali ones on eBay pretty often. I  still need to find the original Bremerton Washington  haselwood Buick ones for my blue Gs. My dad has a coupe but he won't give one up. Haha. What sucks is my grandpa worked there as a mechanic threw the 60-70's. And he had boxes of them. But he threw them all away back in day. Someday I'll find some. In the mean time , just keep looking.
