Title: Bumper restoration input needed
Post by: 35chevcoupe on June 21, 2016, 09:49:19 PM
I met with North Star Plating this weekend at Back to the fifties . They had a special and were giving out 10 % discount coupons at the show  for replating .
Has anyone had there bumpers done there , and if so how did they turn out ?
They assured me that they could repair any and all damaged areas and that they had the specs to make them fit like new .
I,m planning on taking them there next week but would like to hear some feedback from some of there customers .

John

I assume you are talking about the group in Brainerd MN just off 371.

I had a set of 65 GS bumpers redone by them back in the mid 80s and was pleased.

Last year before the BCA Nationals I had another set done by them in Brainerd.

They came off my white 65GS HT so I wasnt going to take any chance of loosing them so i brought them directly to the plant.

There was a small dent in the rear bumper that they fixed and I redid the front so it would match the shine of the rear.

As you know there were a lot of 65GS folks at the Natinals last year and nobody gave me a hard time about my bumpers.

I would use them again.

Everything was finished on time for the quoted price, wrapped  very well for protection, they had no problem opening them for inspection at the plant to make sure i was happy and they were good to talk to on the phone.

If your interested your welcome to come over and take a look at mine.

They did the front and rear bumpers on the convertible. Very pleased. Recommended.

John,

The rear bumper on my car was done by Northstar. I had the front done by Tri-City in TN.
Ti-City was about $100 less. Both turned out great.
