Title: bucket seat frame restoration color ?
Post by: 35chevcoupe on June 07, 2016, 02:02:44 PM
Dropped off my seats today to get upholstered , and discussing the process he said they would clean and paint the seat frames black . I think the frames were bare steel , so should I have them leave them bare or paint them ?
( IF ) I was going to have the car judged , would having the seat frames painted be a deduct ?
Not sure if I would ever have the car judged but trying to do it correct as possible .

John,

The seat frames were bare steel from the factory.
I painted the frames for Chuck when I reupholstered his seats simply to protect them from further damage.

Painting them should not matter from a judging standpoint. Can't be seen anyways.

The tracks are painted, just the lower part though. All the ones I have come across are flat black.
