I,m going to be in need of a fuse panel if someone has an extra . Mine has a minor issue making good contact with the fuses . :crybaby2:
-
It's part of the dash wiring harness.
Lectric limited will rebuild them. Check their web page:
http://www.lectriclimited.com/repair_components.htm (http://www.lectriclimited.com/repair_components.htm)
or
www.lectriclimited.com (http://www.lectriclimited.com)
We did find a source for the fuse connectors if you want to repair it yourself.
Another option is to disassemble, blast the connectors clean and replate them.
-
Walt,
Interested in the connector source.
John,
Another option might be to soak it in Evaporust. Slow process, but doesn't hurt the plastic. Then coat connectors with a Di-electric grease.

Walt, Loren , It,s way beyond cleaning the terminals . When I pulled a couple fuses out the terminals turned into dust .
I,m going to look into the site that you posted Walt , looks like a good place .
( Thanks for posting that )

Here's the thread on an Olds forum, mentions the rebuild service by American Autowire, and the source for the fuse holder terminals:
http://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/electrical/100157-fuse-block-clips.html (http://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/electrical/100157-fuse-block-clips.html)
And terminals from DelMar Wire Products:

Delmar has many items of interest including wire and pigtails.

thanks

John,
If Jim's doesn't work from the '66, I found one here that I'm going to clean in Evap-o -rust. Looks pretty decent.

Loren ,
I,ll let you know , I,m heading down to Jims friday and then i,ll compare them . Thank you
-
Looks like '66 is different, has an extra spot for 'radio' .
-
You beat me to it Walt.
I have a '66 harness here that I have to repair for someone and definitely a few '65 to compare with. Just haven't gotten to it yet. It will be interesting to see if the wire locations are all the same for the engine and forward lighting harnesses.

While we are on the subject, does anyone have one of the 'Power Options' terminal set that snaps into the fuse box. The 66 one that Walt posted has it installed and the 65 one on the left does not have it. One of the terminals is broken off on the one in one of my cars. The box only had that part in it if the car had PW or Pseat from the factory.

This is what it looks like, it's the one on the left with the fuse holder and 3 terminals. Don't know if there's a version with 4 terminals.
These were blasted and replated with a zinc 'Copy Cad' kit from Caswell plating.
