Title: Top windshield trim removal?
Post by: Polishmeatballpizza on May 15, 2016, 06:14:07 PM
How the heck do you remove this?  Does it roll back?

Must be tons of adhesive on there.

Is there a good way? I do not know, but you have to take a putty knife on the interior side and start working up the edge(rolling) as you said. It seems to be easier starting in the middle with mirror removed and going out a little at a time towards the edges. It does have body putty here and there making it that much more fun and every time I have tried saving one from a junk car the screws refuse to come out.

I got the screws out, windshield is removed. I just don't want  to bend or kink it.

Is there an exploded view of this? Any chance there's something else holding it?

Dear George and mid-60s Buick rebuilders,

Is there an exploded view of this? Any chance there's something else holding it?

If there is a view, you might find it in the body shop manual that is online on the main 65GS.com website.  Here is a link to the body shop manual:

Here is a list of all the manuals that are available:

http://www.65gs.com/manuals.html (http://www.65gs.com/manuals.html)

Also, you can find these manuals in their original paper form for sale on forums and places like eBay.

I hope that's a bit of help at least.
