Title: Special thanks to John Egel
Post by: Chris on July 17, 2009, 08:32:24 PM
Thanks to John Egel for sending me his spare set of restored hood springs.

They look great and they will be a very nice detail underneath the hood.

Thanks again,

Chris

Thanks John Egel for taking the time to send me a Flame Red sample.  I was definitely confused when we came up with three mixes for this color.  John's sample gave me some confidence in my decision to use the more muted of the three.  Thanks John.  Much obliged.

Chris and Rob,

You're welcome! That's what (Buick) friends are for.

Rob, I had a chance to compare my color swatch with the actual paint on the convertible this weekend.  It's in storage.  I think that the sample sent to you and Walt may be slightly darker than what is on the convertible.  The convertible may be a slightly brighter red. Perhaps I did not shake the rattle can long enough before I sprayed the swatches that I sent to you. Good luck with whatever color of red your choose.

John

John, thanks for sending me the frame red paint sample! It arrived on Monday. I tried to do a comparison, but boy are cold fluorescent lights terrible! In that poor lighting, it did look very close to the original paint on the inside of the fenders.
I'll  get the car outside  for a better look soon and report back.
