Title: 1966 Skylark Parts Car or Project - $900
Post by: Rochester on March 09, 2016, 04:29:00 PM
I have a 66 Skylark Coupe with a 340 4 barrel that I am either going to sell as a parts car or I may part out.  The car has been sitting for about 10 years and the engine is frozen.  I filled the cylinders with Marvel Mystery Oil, so it may free up some time in the future.  There is no title for the car, but I do have a bill of sale from the prior owner.  The floors have rust through in spots, but can be patched...don't think it needs a whole floor.  The trunk floor is pretty solid with some patches in the corners where they usually rust.  The frame seems solid. There is rust on the cowl in front of the windshield.  I plan to keep the pass side fender and inner liner and the two small extension ends on the rear fenders.  I want $900 for the car or will part it out if there is no interest.

That car is way too nice to part out!  There are ways to free that engine up and get it runnable.  Let me know if you are interested and I can explain how to make a tool you can free up the engine without taking it apart.  I have found that PB blaster works best in the cylinders to help free one up.

Thanks for the message, but I bought the car for the fender and a few other parts for my 66 Gran Sport.  I have it listed at what I think is a reasonable price, so I hope someone buy the entire car.

Dennis,
that appears to be a Skylark and has the one piece tail panel trim.

If you decide to part it out I would be interested in all the brackets and pulleys that are needed from alternator, water pump, crank pulley. I am not sure that this is the right parts but being you have the car there is a big plus. I am trying to go from a non air 340 car and are not sure what I need. I am going to put an under the dash unit in. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Les
