Title: 65 4 Speed shift handle
Post by: Buick_65 on February 17, 2016, 01:04:21 PM
Anybody have a 4 speed shift handle they can part with?  Or rent me??  Just looking for something to get me by while mine is being chromed.  Hoping to avoid installing an entirely new shifter which will spoil me and prevent me from putting the stocker back on......

Thanks in advance.

Considering the princely sum I am paying to get mine replated; no.  Let me get back to you on timing, seems to me it was 6-8 weeks.  I would be willing to cover shipping and make a donation to your restoration fund for your trouble..... :icon_biggrin:

I stumbled onto a reproduction for a different car that might get me by. And it's only $80. If it pans out I will share with everyone.

WOW.  2 Q's?    is the black ball with or without the "H" shift pattern?  and did you replace the pullup cable for reverse lockout?

There's a repo Chevelle and Impala handle available that is close to the GS version. The bends are a little different, as to location and angle.
Here's a nice guide showing the various Chevy shifter handles:
