Anyone know how to repair one of these? Needs a new pin, stop and anti-rattle spring.
Thanks,
Chuck

The pin shouldn't be hard to do. Maybe use a roll pin after drilling out the old pin.
I've seen the spring on E Bay recently.
I need to look at one though to remember what the stop looks like.

Thanks Loren. Since it appears the counterweight has to be removed to access the pin, my first question is how do I do that? Is it a press fit?

I'd have to look at one. Not sure I have one around here that isn't on a car.
I think the butterfly has a spot weld.

Chuck, I can post some pics of one later for reference.

Thanks Mark. I'd appreciate that!
What I have to work with is attached.

Thanks Mark. Is there a spring missing on the coil end? I've seen pictures of a spring connected between the grooved pin on that end and the slot in the shaft.

Chuck,
No spring missing I am aware of. That is an NOS heat riser, but could be a later/superceded design.
The original one on my car looks just like it. So....

OK, sounds good.
Here is where I thought I saw the other spring and looking at it again, it appears that this particular part came with a spare anti-rattle spring that is shown hooked on the coil end and hanging in space. http://www.rarenosparts.com/66-BUICK-SKYLARK-GS-V8-MANIFOLD-HEAT-RISER-VALVE-NOS_p_1204.html (http://www.rarenosparts.com/66-BUICK-SKYLARK-GS-V8-MANIFOLD-HEAT-RISER-VALVE-NOS_p_1204.html)
I note that they are out of stock.....
Thanks again,
Chuck
