I have bought 2 different one's from Metro and they do not fit the hole in the fender slot, to long. I have two different used ones that do fit. From what I have been able to find by looking at fenders the slot front to back is the same 65/72 for Skylark. The bumper is longer on 68/72. It appears the shorter front to back is for the 65/67, bumper and hole the same length. The Metro ones HF5 is slightly wider but the slant is wrong. Metro HF26 is way to long, but the slant is correct, when I compare it to the two used ones. May need to try one from Steele, could not find one from, Soft Seal. Will try to post pictures, thanks Bill.

I have used the longer ones you referred to that have the correct slant. Just take a sharp razor knife and cut the bottom end off to the correct length and they fit fine.

Brian, looks like you could cut the HF 26 tab down to fit. Metro does sell a HF 26-C that look like the tab is cut down, states (tab is 5/8' for 3/4 slot) I looked at my 65 this AM and it does have the shorter, length ones, and it is kinda original, and 35 years ago when I re did the front fenders we re-used the hood bumper. I also looked at my original 72 and it has the long hood bumpers.
Here are some pictures of the original and Metro ones.
So far I have not found the correct 64/7 narrow ones, that I think came on these cars.

I thought I bought the correct ones from CARS.
Do any of these look correct?

Walt, I did see these, and the HFB 610-3 is the correct length, 5/8" but the bevel looks to steep, I may order some and see. I can use the wide ones I have and cut down to 5/8", thanks Bill.

Walt bought the ones, you said from CARS and they look almost correct, like OEM. Another correct reproduction part found. Thanks Bill.
