Called several times. he finally returned my 4 messages a week later. Said the car isnt ready to sell? SO I inquired:
Car has been sitting for quite some time. Non running NON original (1964 401) has a seriously gummed up carb and fuel tank. Fuel lines are cracked and corroded. Carb needs a rebuild, as well as a new fuel pump, fuel lines, and tank. He seems askeer'd to touch the battery acid all over the battery and core support!? Tires rotted. Interior is decent with torn seat covers, not sure if they are original. Rust in trunk. Holes in carpet. WAS A SHOW CAR??? maybe. Prolly back in 1965! Dacked crash pad. Cracked steering wheel. Thining paint.
I TRIED, but, he is a difficult man to get any info out of, but I told him I would be a serious cash buyer, HOWEVER, before I make the 4 hour drive, (8 hours round trip) I really wanted to see more detailed pix. That was a week ago LAST sunday. Coming up on two weeks and still nothing. Real. Dedicated. Seller, eh?
From his description ONLY, I would guess this would be AT BEST a $3500-4000 car as is.
