I Picked up a nice 65 instrument cluster at BTTFifties today and want to put in place of my original as someone modified it a little for a different radio. It also has a clock in it , my question is will my existing harness have a wire already there for the clock option ? or will I have to add something .
-
It should be on your existing harness John.

Excellent !!!
Thanks Dan .
I also got a couple different leads on 3 parts cars for my roof , so hopefully , with a little luck , I,ll be going junk yarding in a week or two .
-
Sounds like you did good John! That sure is a big show.

Was looking for you Jim .
I probably walked right by you I was so tired today . lol

it an orange wire (or orange with black stripe). It should be right next to the lighter lead which is orange or orange with black stripe (can't remember which is which) The chassis manual shows this.

(Orange wire) , that sounds familiar . I bet some of the other cars I've had that same color also .
I see there is a 65 chassis manual on e bay , time to get one .
Thank you

The 1965 Buick chassis manual covers all models except the Skylark GS, since it was a late-year addition. It'still good for Skylark coverage.
There is a another manual which covers GS-specific areas.
Both manuals are online here at 65GS.com!

Walt,
Is there a separate wiring schematic for the '66 GS?

looked at my 66 wiring diagram. It shows a orange wire with black stripe for the clock. The wire also continues to the glove box light. Hope it helps.
