So many questions. LOL
So, as the title asks..... Do you belong to the GSCA?

Started out with Membership #98 for a number of years but got lost in the middle with Home and Family and I'm now back with a much higher number.

Milton,
Thanks for the response.
You must have started out in the early years. I first signed up in 1987 with a member # 522
I was curious to see what kind of participation others have or had.

Was a member of GSCA for close to 20 years. Had a number in the 300s.
Let it go about 3-4 years ago.

I joined in 1998.

I joined in 1983
-
Was.
I joined when it first started in 1981. Attended the Nats from 82-87 and 2 more in the 1990's.
Was also a member of the Northeast chapter and Penn-Ohio chapters.
Let most of my memberships run out in 2003 when I got laid off from work. Started posting online on V8 Buick since it better suited my budget!

Not currently. I was a member for one year back in 1997 because you had to be a member to race at the GSCA Nationals. FYI, I go to the GSCA's every year for the last 6 or 7 years as a spectator without my car. This being the 50th anniversary I plan to bring a my car. So unless the rules have changed, looks like I will be joining again this year.

Yes, for approx. a year now. I attended my first GS Nats this past year and enjoyed it.

I've made it to only one Nationals. The Ohio one. It was a really fun time, but so hot.
Many of the racers were having a tough time on the track because of it.
It would be a shame to see the GSCA cease, but without membership support that will happen.

I was in Bowling Green for the 2012 GSCA Nationals and they had moved the dates to the fall.
It was on the cool side but it sure beet the heat and flooding.
The racers really loved it with the cool air and hot time slips.
Some turbo friends of mine said last years get together seamed to have a lot better attitude for everyone.
Your right, in the end this venue will be determined by support.

Milton,
As will all or at least most.
Every club seems to struggle at some time or other. But when the leadership is lost, I've seen it die out or become a shadow of what it was.
Dedicated and participating members is important also. The combination of good leaders and dedicated members is what makes it work.

well.. I was a small part of the early formed GSCA group...joined RL in 1982, Membership #40. It took me till 92, to put together our local club, SKYLARK DRIVE, ~Cruisin' Tampa Bay~ FLORIDA WEST COAST CHAPTER GSCA. At one time when things were hoppin', myseff and George N had grown it into 127 members.
GSCA has a long history of 'ups & downs' but I'd sure hate to see it go away. Perhaps MARK SMITH can step up and keep it going! :laughing7:
