Does anyone know the optional and standard tires to fit a 65 gs hardtop? I have bfgoodrich radials 235/60/14 now. Just curious if I can go any larger, I do not need them for a while, but want to know what I want when I go looking. Thanks in advance....Bill :hello:

Standard tires were 775-14 bias ply. The equivalent today is probably a 215/75-14 radial. In the larger size the 225/70-14 is the equivalent diameter. Hope this helps.

I have 225/70/14 on my GS, and I have a slight fender rub on the outer lip near the top when I'm at full lock when I have a passenger in the car. When I replace my tires, I was planning to go with 205/70/14, which appears to be between 775/14 and 735/14 in size.

A 7.75-14 is more or less between a P205/75R14 and a P215/75R14. Coker tires website has lots of useful information on converting from bias to radial. Personally, I like the flexibility of the 71 GS wheels on the car. you can use 205/75R15, 215/65R15 all around. You can also use 235/60R15, 245/60r15, 255/60R15 and 275/50R15 on the rear if you want that late 60's look. With the 65 fat-bird red center caps and the argent grey paint in place of the black they almost look like they belong on the car. Coker does have the 7.75-14 US Royal tires with the 7/8" white wall too the last time I checked.
