Hi Kurt and mid-60s Buick fans,
My browser, Chrome, is telling me that there is malware on the V8Buick.com site and that I should not log on or visit the site. Anyone else have this message?
Yes, I'm getting the same message with Firefox. It appears to be a service provided by Google though. When Google automatically searches a website, it also looks for malware. Here is the link to the report that was generated this evening when I tried to reach V-8 Buick:
https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?client=Firefox&hl=en-US&site=http://www.v8buick.com/ (https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?client=Firefox&hl=en-US&site=http://www.v8buick.com/)
The text of that report is below:

Since I run a Mac perhaps I could risk it, but I'd rather not. Folks using PCs or Android phones might want to be especially careful.

I am getting the same message with my Firefox browser. Therefore, no V8 browsing for me until the issue is resolved.

Jim W posted that the problem was resolved on Sunday, should be safe now. It may take a little time for Google/etc to be notified of the fix.

Not fixed as of 7:45 AM this morning Pacific time, I just tried to log on and got the warning.

Dear fans of mid-60s Buicks,

I'm getting the same warning and the Google report claims that their web-crawler software still detected malware this morning. So I guess we should stay away until the Google tool gives us the all-clear.

Just safely logged on with my laptop using IE. Seems there's a delay with google clearing the fix for all browsers.

Dear Tom and fans of mid-60s Buicks,
Just safely logged on with my laptop using IE. Seems there's a delay with google clearing the fix for all browsers.
I just tried again this morning (May 20, 2014 @ 8:30am) and I get the same warning from the Google advisory. The report insists that on this morning's pass over V-8 Buick they once more found malware. Here is the link to the machine generated report:
https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?client=Firefox&hl=en-US&site=http://www.v8buick.com/ (https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?client=Firefox&hl=en-US&site=http://www.v8buick.com/)
Odds are that my Mac wouldn't be affected by any of this, but I'll err on the side of caution.
Cheers, Edouard
