Bob,
Flint built coupe built the 5th week of April
157 = red bucket seats, aa = black exterior, top and bottom
tinted windshield and power seat; automatic; 3h = ?; remote O/S mirror; door edge guards
Does this match up to what the car has ? If not correct someone will let us know.

I think 2X is a 2 speed automatic.

2X is long console for the automatic trans
2P is back up lights.
3H is belt reveal molding, which is the chrome molding along the bottom of both sets of side window, attached to the body.
There is some consensus that a Flint biult GS should also have a 4S code to signify it as such. The VIN does note denote a GS in 1965. That began in 1966.
04E - Car was built fifth week of April

Where can you find all those codes? I have bought an original 1965 V6 and V8 Buick fleet and leasing information on ebay, and here I can find all the trim codes and color codes and color combinations. There are also a list of all the options but I can't seem to find the system between the codes I have and the codes which are mentioned. Also I don't know where you can read about the Building date and so on?
If there's some kind of litterature which gives all of the information to how to crack all the trim plate codes I would be more than glad to buy that litterature. I have the original Skylark and Skylark GS service manual and also the original 1965 Skylark Body service manual but the codes aren't to be found there either.
Thanks, Jens

Look at post titled "Ch-ch-changes" in the Announcements section. Enjoy.

Hi Dan,
thanks for your quick reply. I read the post with great interest. It looks like there are some differences in the codes compared to which plant the car came from. Extra difficulties:-). I looked at the pdf-file which Chris posted and it's a big help, but it still don't match my 1965 accessories and options sheet from my original 1965 brochure..or I can't find the logic in it:-).
