This might seem like a simple question however I'm sure it's worth a ton of conversation.
Getting ready to change the oil in the convertible and I'm curious on what you guys perfer to use (oil make and weight) and what additives you run if anything.

I run Castrol Syntec 5w 30. All year.

Joe,
Any problems with the synthetic oil being too thin and leaking past your gaskets? One of the reasons I started this thread was I've heard it's best to go with a thicker conventional oil as the older style gaskets and seals would benefit.
Any one run Mystery Oil additive etc?

Chris,
Mine is running a 10W - 30 synthetic blend together with ZDDP Plus. The oil is a local brand which is of very high quality. No problem with oil leaking. I've used this since having the engine rebuilt.

Chris,
I use Valvoline Racing oil, 10W-30. Unlike most over-the-counter motor oils, this oil has some zinc content. I also add a bottle of the ZDDPlus zinc additive. If the bottle of oil has the little gear symbol that says "for gasoline engines only", it does not contain any zinc. According to the guys at my auto parts store who have done some research into this zinc issue, the Valvoline Racing oil has the highest zinc content of all the over-the-counter oils. Even so, it's still not as high as the oils designed for the older engines. That's why I also add the bottle of ZDDPlus.

Chris, I haven't ever had a 450 horse engine or more that didn't leak somewhere!!!
Anyway, the gaskets I use are the newer type. Not sure about the older gackets.
