Thanks for the welcome. To answer the questions, first working on pictures. Second I have owned the car for 6-7 years(don't remember theyear I got it.) The car was owned by Glenn Dempsey before I got it. Some of you will remember the white hardtop he had in his collection. I have went over the car from to to bottom since i got it getting it to A1 condition. Looking forward to Bowling Green in 15 for the 65 GS gathering. Vinnie

Hi Glenn,

Glad to see that you found us. Glen Dempsey was a icon in the Buick world. You got a fine GS from what I saw of it last in Bowling Green. Glenn, you did register your GS in 2006, it's in the Registry Archives (paper copy). However, if you would be so kind as to re-register your GS here on this website, that would be great. In time, most of the GSs in the Archives will make it to the online Registry. No old records will be destroyed or lost. Once we get the Registry reprogrammed, we can have a chronological history of the owners on any one GS. And I can more some more over from the Archives as well as update current registrations.

Vinnie,
Again, Welcome.
I am quite familiar with your car, having seen it at many shows when Glen and his wife owned it.
As John stated, Glen was an icon, a "Big Buick guy". The Dempseys had an impressive collection of cars. I am glad to see one of the '65 has surfaced.
Hopefully you will be able to get the registry updated soon with you as its new caretaker.

Hi again. I updated the registry today. A quick short story about Glenn. In 1965 Glenn and Shirley Dempsey lived across the street from a friend on mine's garage. At that time Glenn drove a ford pick-up and Shirley drove a red Cadillac. I traded in a 1961 Corvette on a new 65
Gran Sport coupe 4 speed car. (Wish I had it back). We did a lot of street racing at that time and Glenn was always impressed with my car. I think that fired the Buick fever in Glenn. As they say, The rest is history. Fast forward 40 years, who should I buy my 65 Gran Sport from but the same Glenn Dempsey. Vinnie

Vinnie,

Great story about Glen Dempsey, you are fortunate to have known him so well. The '65 GS has had a similar affect on a number of us.

I forgot to add this in my last post, Glen did register his black hardtop in 1988, but he did not register the white hardtop. When the Registry gets updated, we will be sure to add his name as one of the previous owners of your white hardtop. Thanks for re-registering.

John
