Title: Exterior door handles

Does anyone know what year models are same as '65 ? if any ? 68/69 ?

This is a interesting one! group # 10.527 part# 5719142 -43 Rh Lh  1964 -69 3000 -4000
models ( special , skylark , gs)  also 1965-67 all except 9000 (Riviera)  but not rear doors on the 66 3000 4000 models ( spec ,skylark, gs) or 67 4dr! also used on the 1968 lesabre ,cat , electra! , and the 1970 Lesabre models! This is how it is listed in the parts book! Hope this helps ! I know some of the repos dont always fit! and finding good ones to plate is getting harder! Jon

I purchased the New GM Restoration door handles that showed to be for part# 5719142 . Not even close. In the back screw location the original handle screw hole is in the center, on the new part it's to the side. No way will this mount to the door. These are the nice expensive reproductions by the way. 
I'm not sure if the repo's are manufactured wrong, or the part# is wrong.
 Has anyone purchased a set that are exact to OEM ?   
The obvious choice is the re chrome the original handles, but every chrome shop right now is running about 6 weeks behind.

Hi Dan,
they do.I got lucky and scored a set of OEM this weekend that are almost nos quality ( read not perfect). I would still like to get to the bottom of the repo situations. Some other members tell me they bought some years ago that were correct. 
PS '65 handles are so much wider then 68/69 or 70/72 styles  :icon_biggrin:.
