Title: Red-White 65 GS HT Fremont Car
Post by: Mark Ascher on September 09, 2012, 09:38:56 PM
This 65 GS showed up at Wheels & Wings in Osceola WI on Saturday (9-8). Interesting car. The owner of this one bought it 1968 (!). He lived in California, but moved to Wisconsin in the mid-late 70s. It has been through a couple of WI winters, bit doesn't look any worse for wear. it's a 1B Fremont car, I think the earliest 65 GS I can recall seeing. Note the number tag spot welded to the inside of the LF fender. The car was complete, with little restoration work done and was mostly in original condition. It had been repainted, carpet replaced, and it had taken a light hit in the front a long time ago, with the bumper, grille, and grille emblem being replaced.

This one also had the "square" jack post referring back to the thread on those.

Dan,

I talked to the owner for quite awhile. He was retired, and I don't think he was a computer guy, or even owned one.
I told him about our playground here... here's another 65, I've seen this one 2 years in a row here now, but have never
seen the owner. Triple black, 4 speed car with power windows, Never seen it with the hood up.

Hi all,

I was going thru the old post and noticed the fender tag, as I have one and always wonder what this tag meant

It came off a old drag/parts car I have now a parts closet

Thanks for any insight,
