Yes , the four speed was a Borg Warner T-10 with heavier bearings and gears then a standard t-10.

And yes to the 3 speed manual tranny... this is what I've always been told.

Ford Unit:

They used this for the HD floor shift apps, saginaw for the 3-speed column shift cars from what I can tell in the chassis manuals.

I would think any big-block Nailhead would've gotten the HD Ford trans? I can't imagine the old Saginaw to hold up to all that torque.
Ted, let us know what trans your new purchase has!

Well, the 65 Wildcat 3-speed is another saginaw - different from the Skylark unit.
I have to check the 65 Chassis manual again to make sure, but it seemslike the case and ratios are different.

Hello, just want to add, that from what I remember, the car had a console no tack, and a wooden shifter knob. also the steering wheel was made of wood trim.I don't own the car any more and never here of anyone talking about them

The wood wheel and wooden shifter knob were not original to the car.Riviera and Wildcats were the only ones with a wheel option.
