Title: question on hood ornaments 1965 GS

The hood ornament on my Gran Sport is pretty faded out, and none too pretty anymore. Are these repro'd ? is there a substitute that can be used in place?
Suggestions.......

Post by: Chris on January 29, 2012, 08:00:02 PM: They was reproducing them for a while however the parts I seen appeared to be pulled from a previously broken piece and they were made from a softer casting metal that can distort easily. The foils they used never looked right and they faded completely within a summer. With all that said, they are better than having nothing and if you can't find a really good used part (or NO$) then at least it's something to have out there on the end of the hood. :)

Post by: dl7265 on February 05, 2012, 11:23:50 PM: Kurt ,I don't know ? I dropped off my chrome and all my stainless from my convertible restoration to be done. Along with the fender ports. I'm afraid to ask what the bill will be. I should get them back soon though.

I think someone is making a decal for the tri shields right ?

Bolt it to the hood :icon_biggrin: I'm not doing anything with the Tri-Shield on mine. At least til there is a better solution.

Post by: dl7265 on March 31, 2012, 05:12:43 PM: Well, I got my parts back.... triple chrome plate... Emblem, and fender ports. What you won't believe is, they had pits that looked like the stalactites .. nothing short of amazing work. :icon_biggrin:
