Title: Rocker Trim Needed
Post by: Chris on December 08, 2011, 11:13:24 PM
Anyone have a nice set of rocker trim panels for sale or trade?

I'm looking for a nice set without dings or splits that can be refinished as replacements for the set on my convertible.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

I might have 1 nice spare. I'll dig it out if you're interested.

Chris,

Those are 65, but you'll never fix that one that's mangled. Too bad, they look pretty good.
Well, never say never, but you'll have more time and $$$ than they're worth.
Even so, the BIN for the one ain't bad. Good rocker mouldings are a tough one...

I'll take pics of the one I have in the next few days.

Chris

Do you have a resource that can restore them?  I have a set that I would like to have done.

It's been a while since I've talked to him but a couple of years ago Bob Mayle said that he could refinish them:

http://www.stainlessresto.com/contactus.html (http://www.stainlessresto.com/contactus.html)

Bob refinished my wheel moldings and they turned out perfect!

If you talk to him, make sure you tell him that the 65GS.com site sent you there.  We talked about possibly doing a member discount at one time if we could get enough 65 guys interested in using him as our official bright work guy.

Later,

Chris,

Those have been on eBay for quite a while. Make him an offer. Maybe Mark's is the same side as the mangled one  :icon_biggrin: Restoring them is a long and tedious job.

I just took a second look at them and they both appear to be pretty rough. The condition plus the high shipping costs (they are awkward to ship) will keep away from this pair.

Please keep an eye out for me guys, I just need a good set without any splits or bad creasing that can be polished up and repainted.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

I may have one or a pair also. I would have to check the stash. Mine are off a 2 door but I think 4 doors are the same length. Sportwagon's are different with out a doubt.
