Sorry, Loren.  I should have said it wasn't mine (wish it was tho!)
I just like looking at for sale ads to see what is out there.
There seem to be a lot of cars for sale in the Pacific Northwest. I'm a few thousand miles away in the Atlantic Northeast...

I have a full garage and enough projects to keep me busy for a few decades!
BUT
If I found a 65 GS 4 speed or one of the rare rare rare 66 GS's with the 11:1 401, I would make room for it!

I can't buy it.. but I called to get some pictures for the site.

When I called, the fellow said he was getting really bad reception since he was at the top of a mountain.

He's out in Washington State where my son is stationed.

I'll post the pictures and description when I receive them... my curiosity is peaked!

Sounds to good to be true. I think I might like to follow up and buy this car.  Did he indicate color or overall condition?

Tom,

He didn't give a lot of details and said he'd call me on Monday.

I'll post the details as soon as I get them.

He did tell me that it's not going anywhere over the weekend and not to worry.

Walt, kinda figured it wasn't yours . Looks like you are just as stuck on '66's as I am '65's.

I've found that it is much easier to stay with the one year and model. Parts are hard enough to find for one model much less multiple years/ makes.

I also like to see what is out there on the market. It's just fun to tire kick from home.

Loren, don't let Walt fool you.... if you was to cut him open, I know he's a diehard 65 guy!   ;D

(COME TO THE DARK SIDE WALT!)

You've probably seen the thread, but just in case, here is his 65 4 Speed GS CONVERTIBLE!

http://65gs.com/board/index.php/topic,23.0.html

I just can't believe how he balances all of that 65 and 66 knowledge together and does it so well.

Very nice convert.  I do miss the ones I had.

As far as cutting walt open ......I think I will pass.  Some one does have to tend to the care and feeding of '66's.

Ok guys.. you are seeing these here first.   ;D

I talked to the owner the other night and he's a vistor to the site, so please keep the comments and opinions in good taste.

His name is Daniel and he's located in Washington State.  He's a Mopar guy.. but hey don't hold that against him.   ;)

He's given us first shot at the car if any of you are seriously interested.  I say serious as he's pretty firm on his asking price.

The car has a rich history however to keep it short, it was wrecked into a small tree back in the late sixties and the owner never got around to fixing it.  When found the title was still in the original owners name and the plates as you can see where carried over from 1963 and are original to the car since new.

The bucket seat is missing and the motor hasn't been fired up since he's owned although it will rotate with a break over bar.

He's had about 10 calls on this car so if you are interested, please jump quick or you'll miss out.  I've promised Daniel that if he does not sell it, we'll help him establish a new asking price to help him out.

Thanks for the lead Walt and remember.. you seen it here first!  (Nice plug huh?)  8)

No frame or trunk shots?Daniel, you want a honest opinion you should provide pictures of the complete car.It looks like it has sat outside a little to long.Look at the the picture of the rear window trim popping.Leads me to believe the rear window channel is completely gone.If thats rotted then the trunk is also which is why there are no pictures.Sorry but it's on the verge of a parts car.I would think its worth 1,500.00 to someone trying to put one together. Not what you wanted to hear but these cars don't bring the money done that a Mopar does when they are done.Just my opinion.    Tom

Tom,

This was along the same lines of  feedback that I had for him.

I told him that he should do the following:

1. Remove the carpet to show the floor
2. Get pictures of the frame and trunk
3. Remove the doghouse and take new pictures - Save the portivents
4. Check out the passenger door for adjustment
5. Put the four rallye's on the car - wrong year wheels btw...
6. Find the caps for the engine, squirt some oil in the pistons, replace the plugs and fire her up.
7. CLEAN - CLEAN - CLEAN

Take new pictures and send them to us.

I've not heard anything back from him yet.

I'd love to see pictures also after he done the things I suggested, this should give a really good idea of how his car really looks.
