Title: WTD: nice '65 upper A-arms
Post by: WkillGS on November 18, 2006, 11:07:25 AM
Looking for a nice pair of upper A-rms, with minimal surface pitting. Also need the original shafts and bushings with good rubber boots.

Thanks!

I ran across this the other day and thought about you needing those A Arms.

They think they are selling these now brand new..

I thought I seen that they now carry OEM and Hotchkis styles.

Hope this helps..

Thanks Chris, those look like the later style.
The 65's had the screw-in bushings that were only used for a short time....64 and 65 I believe???
The shafts are hard to find. They're repo'd by Rare Parts, but they're expensive and maybe look different than the originals??
I have some nice 66 arms I can use, but I prefer the correct '65 ones if I can find them.

I have a couple sets of upper control arms off of '65s stored in my building on my parents farm in VA.  I can get a set next time I am up there if you are interested.  They still have the shafts and everything in them with the grease fittings on each end.

Thanks Brian!
I actually just got a set from Bruce on V8. They came from Nebraska, and are in very nice condition.
I'm sure to need other items once I get going on the 65 project....so don't throw anything away!

The ONLY place to get '65 front upper a-arm bushings (to my knowledge) is rareparts.com

Rare Parts # RP15605

Comes with the shafts.

Just replaced them on my '65 GS...
