Title: Not a real GS but helpful info regardless. Weighed my car today
Post by: Dr. Evil on July 25, 2016, 10:20:40 PM
Just wanted to add to the collective knowledge. Car is a 65 Skylark 2D HT, GS clone in appearance only. I've added 17x8 wheels with 245/40/17 tires, power disc brakes from a 2002 Camaro and a couple small items. Still has a full size spare in the trunk and 2/3 tank of gas. Engine is a stock 73 model 350 w/manifolds and has the ST transmission. Scale says 3560lbs.

Dear Dr. Evil and mid-60s Buick dietitians

(http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/wink_smile_triangle.gif) . . . Well according to the Automotive Catalog, your car probably needs to go on a diet! . . . (http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/big_grin_triangle.gif)

Seriously the estimated weight for a stock 1965 Skylark 2 door hardtop is: 3300 lbs.

Considering the mods you have made it looks like you are right about where it should be!

Thanks for the info!  I'll have to weigh my wagon one of these days to satisfy my curiosity.

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:
